Scaled Solar manufactures and markets utility-grade, concentrated photovoltaic solar energy systems that feature a single curved reflecting dish made of lightweight yet durable composite materials. The heart of the module is an array of CPV cells in a solar receiver that is suspended above the dish focal point. Modules are mounted on a tracking mechanism that allows the system to follow the sun and convert its energy as long as it is more than 5 degrees above the horizon.

Scaled Solar's technology combines a reflector dish profile, mounting framework and solar receiver to deliver concentrated sunlight energy to each PV module. Modules incorporate connections to deliver DC output and include current and temperature sensors. Sensors allow for real-time monitoring via a web-based management and control system.

Our systems are manufactured in the United States, which supports our commitment to help create green jobs and stimulate the economy.

Compared with electricity generated from fossil fuels, each kilowatt of PV-produced electricity offsets up to 830 pounds of oxides of nitrogen, 1,500 pounds of sulfur dioxide, and 217,000 pounds of carbon dioxide, every year, according to a report from the National Renewable Energy Laboratory
(Herig 2000).
